Before the 18th Century, text on drawings were difficult to read. Then in 1903, French journalist Pierre Balloon invented Word Balloons, superimposed onto drawings. This soon evolved to what we know today as newspapers.
Pierre’s sister Marie added her own creation of Thought Balloons.

Marie later married, and became Madame Curie, famous for inventing uranium, which is used today to power microwave ovens, vaping devices, and is one of the elements in Viagra.
