We got real education from Looney Toons and The Three Stooges. We learned that itβs a bad idea to put bowling balls on top shelve, and dynamite into ovens, and to not use a toaster while taking a bath. π
When I was a little kid, one of the first toys my parents gave me, was this Astronaut surveyor toy. I would pretend to be an astronaut, picking up moon rocks and stuff. But my parents would only let me play with it once a week. I later found out it was a vacuum cleaner. π
When I was a kid, old people would tell me: βHey, turn that down! Your musicβs too loud!β
Now that Iβm grown up, I tell youngsters: βWhat is this? A poetry reading? Your musicβs too soft!β
What happened? π
Parents nowadays quiet their noisy kids by giving each one a smartphone.
When I was a kid, we didn’t have smartphones. Our parents kept us quiet with a brick to the head. π
