Mr. Science – The First Contact Lenses

In the 1700s before modern technology, the only material available that was thin enough to make contact lenses, was the onion peel. The burn took a few weeks to wear off, hence the term “Town Crier”.

    I once slept in my contacts. I couldn’t extract them from my eyes in the middle of the night so I went to the E.R., where the Dr. charged me $700 for 30 seconds. Gosh, for the same price I could have gotten lasic!
